Quincy Senior High School will present the time honored and heartwarming musical “Fiddler On The Roof” on November 9,10,11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. and November 13th at 2:00 p.m. in the Quincy Senior High Theatre.  The audience will be swept away with the artfully constructed tale of Tevye, who struggles with the balance between an overwhelming love for his family and the challenge of maintaining and following the structure of Jewish law.  As his five daughters leave the safety of their home to find their own place in the world, Tevye allows the audience to “listen in” as he openly discusses his frustrations with God.

This classic musical, recently revived on the Broadway stage, is filled with memorable songs and sequences such as “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” “Matchmaker,” “Do You Love Me,” and “Far from The Home I Love.” Main characters include Jake Inman who recreates the legendary character of Tevye and Emily Radkins who plays his wife, Golde. Joe Solaro is cast as Perchik, Trey Ehrhart as Motel, the tailor, and Ben Makins as the idealistic Fyedka.  Tevye’s daughters are played by Morgan Hill, Erica Ernst, Lauren Tweedell, Mallory Johnston and Danica Mosley. Michelle Gough will bring the infamous role of Yente to life and Fruma Sarah is portrayed by Meg Stalder.  Lazar Wolf, the butcher, will be played by Luke Fuqua.  Other characters include Jake Terry, Adele Seaman, Ziven Crist, Andrew Arnold, Harrison Clarke, Tommy Harrison, Grace Ruxlow and Erik Labroo as Mordcha, the Innkeeper.

More than 150 students from the Music, Theatre and Art Departments of QHS will combine their talents to bring “Fiddler” to life.  Reserved tickets are $18.00 for adults and $13.00 for students.  The musical will be accompanied by the QHS Orchestra.  The production is directed by Tom Burnett, Meghan Buckley and Kathleen Dooley.  Paul Shelor is the vocal director and Gary Handrick, Dave Buckley and Blaine Barnes oversee the technical design of the show.

Tickets may be reserved beginning October 20th by calling the QHS Music Office at 217-224-3774.  A spaghetti supper will precede both Friday and Saturday nights performances from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the QHS Cafeteria.  proceeds will benefit the QHS String and Choir programs.
